About Us (our mission statement)
SD50 (Senate-District) DFL is the local grassroots organization of the MN DFL party.
We are residents of Richfield and Bloomington. We are respectful and inclusive of those who share similar values and beliefs. We collectively advocate advancing progressive causes for the common good and embracing everyone in the community; while identifying, developing, and supporting local DFL volunteers, leaders, and candidates. We elect DFL endorsed candidates. We have fun while doing it!
"We all do better
when we all do better"
- Paul Wellstone
What do we do?
Precincts are "polling place"-sized units (each typically containing one polling place). In a city, precincts may include only a few blocks; in a rural area a precinct boundary may be as large as a township. There are nearly 4,000 precincts in Minnesota.
Additionally, we support DFL candidates running for county positions, city council seats, and school boards.
Who Runs SD50?
We are run by the SD50 Central Committee which consists of people just like you who decided to become involved in politics. The Executive Committee of the Central Committee includes:
SD50 Central Committee members are elected every two years at our SD50 Convention.
How Can You Become Involved in DFL politics?
The easiest way to get involved is to visit the web sites of Senate District 50′s DFL candidates. All of their web sites have volunteer forms that you can fill out on-line and you will be contacted by their campaign staffs. Please see our DFL Get Involved page.

As an organization we are a creative and engaged membership whose participants are as diverse as the district.
